An embrace in the trees

The Hawaiian artist known as Hula painted a portrait on fire scarred trees here in the Pacific Northwest to call attention to climate change. The work is titled “Puliki”, which means “to embrace” in Hawaiian. Puliki was a woman embracing the trees, painted with chalk on the burnt bark of the trees. It has already been washed away in the rain.
