I have changed the name of this web site from “Art for Climate Change” to “Art for Culture Change” to better reflect the need to change our entire settler colonial culture, our entire way of life that is based on extraction and consumption.

Indigenous communities say that the best way we can help them is to stop the harm.

The only way to stop the harm is to change our culture. Completely.

The first step is to decolonize our hearts and minds: we must stop identifying with a culture based on colonialism, extraction, and the consumption of nature as property. We must first and foremost place our allegiance with the natural world.

And then, we must resist.

I don’t know who did the image on this post; I found it on the web page with this excellent essay about settler colonialism. I love the image because it perfectly represents the first step to changing our culture. I am grateful to the artist who designed it.
