THAW

Lakes and rivers on the rapidly melting Greenland ice cap, from a new collection of photographs titled “THAW” by Timo Lieber.

The collection highlights the rapidly accelerating melt of the ice cap, which is losing an estimated 380 billion tons of ice annually. The lakes and rivers form inland on the icecap, and drain through the ice to the bottom, causing the ice to flow faster into the ocean.
