No one, not even climate change deniers, can argue that humans haven’t had a huge impact on the planet we call home. One need only look at large landfills, big cities, coal mines, or the tar sands to see that.

Swedish artist Erik Johansson recently created a concept photograph titled “Impact”. He says of his work:

It’s a double meaning, you can either interpret it in a visual way, impact as in hitting something. Or impact, how we humans impact the world, how our behavior effects everything around us and how anything we touch breaks.

We are in serious trouble here on planet Earth because of our human impact on ecosystems and the climate. This photo speaks volumes to me about that impact.
