Leah Borromeo and the Climate Symphony translate numerical climate data into music, a process known as data sonification. 20 years worth of data is captured by the music, data this is either directly translated into notes, or first into graphs, which are then transposed onto a keyboard.

The team used data compiled by NOAA and NASA, as well as their own data recorded in the field, between 1994 and 2014.
